It's literally halfway through the year I can't believe it! Where does the time go? One positive of now being in June is that we're definitely getting lot's more sunshine in Sheffield. Anyway time for the third edition of fun things to do in Sheffield (May and April editions can be found respectively)

Sundays Ongoing - Kommune Urban Cinema

Location: Castle House, Angel St, Sheffield S3 8LS
Cost: £10 per film

I love Kommune! It's so close to where I work so I'm always venturing there to eat (read my Fat Hippo review here) they've started doing events now including a weekly urban cinema event showing classic films from The Big Lebowski, Full Monty and everyone's favourite The Greatest Showman. Food provided by the amazing independent companies occupied there its definitely worth checking out 

Wednesday 5th June - Botanist Musical Bingo

Location: 5A Leopold St, Sheffield S1 2JG
Cost: Free Entry
Bingo like you've never played before, songs replace the numbers as a live musician gives his best renditions of the tunes. It's a fun-packed evening with delicious cocktails and prizes galore for the Bingo winners

Thursday 6th June - Tuesday 11th June - Sheffield Doc Fest

Location: Various Sheffield Film Locations (e.g. Showroom, Curzon, The light)
Cost: £10+ 
Sheffield Doc Fest is back for the annual festival celebrating art, documentaries and non-fiction storytelling. The 6 day festival covers everything from film, alternate realities, social events, talks and marketplace events. Excellent opportunity to embrace a little culture and with tickets starting from one film to full festival access you can dip in and out as much as you'd like to

Friday 14th June - Sunday 16th June - Pete Mckee Age of Love Exhibition

Location: Millenium Gallery, 48 Arundel Gate, Sheffield S1 2PP

A very common media misconception is that once people reach a certain age, they're past it. Pete Mckee has taken the idea of relationships and ageing and embraced them in this newest exhibition demonstrating that love and intimacy is ageless 

Saturday 15th June - Northern Craft Fair

Location: Trafalgar Warehouse, 120 Trafalgar St, Sheffield, S1 4JT
Cost: Free Entry
The craft fair is returning to Sheffield with over fifty of the best makers from the North of England and beyond. You can find workshops, live printing and delicious street food. Child and dog friendly


Sunday 16th June - Magical Music of Harry Potter

Location: Sheffield City Hall, Barker's Pool, Sheffield S1 2JA
Cost: £30
Anyone that knows me knows that I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, I even have a Lumos tattoo on my wrist. So I was very pleased to see The Halle Orchestra are coming to the City Hall to showcase the music of Harry Potter. I'm sure it will take me back to the halls of Hogwarts instantly

Saturday 22nd June - Armed Forces and Veterens Days

Location: Norfolk Row, Fargate, Town Hall Square, Peace Gardens
Cost: Free
On the 75th anniversary of D-Day join our wonderful armed forces and veterans at the parade and ceremony. Music will take you back to the old days with a Vera Lynn tribute act, a truly family orientated day to support our troops and thank them for their service

Monday 24th June - Saturday 29th June  - Girl on The Train

Location: 55 Norfolk St, Sheffield S1 1DA
Cost: £20 - £31
Following the crazy success of both the book and the film, Girl on the train is back as a theatre adaptation. The story of Rachel will leave you guessing right until the very end 

Saturday 29th June - Beer and Bangers Comedy Night

Location: Whirlow Hall Farm Trust, Whirlow Lane, Sheffield, S11 9QF
Cost: £22
One of Sheffield's longest running comedy nights is back, ticket price includes a Whirlow hot dog and a pint of beer (Veggie and Non alcoholic options are available) This unique comedy event takes place in a lambing barn and offers up some of the hottest comedians on the UK circuit right now
