Turtle Bay Sheffield Review - A taste of the Caribbean

The Caribbean way at Turtle Bay Sheffield

Back in 2018 Turtle Bay* opened up in Sheffield and I was thrilled! It's billed as the best Caribbean restaurant and bar in Britain and has so many different locations. I'd visited other Turtle Bay restaurants and always left full of happy vibes (and lots of rum) so I was very glad that Sheffield was finally being graced with a little Caribbean flavour. Fast forward to 2019 and I had the pleasure of joining in with their 1 year birthday celebrations and couldn't wait to get stuck into some delicious food

Turtle Bay Sheffield Review

First up I want to just say that this place was absolutely heaving it was their first birthday party and the party vibe was very present. Lots of customers and staff having a good time dancing and enjoying themselves, I loved the atmosphere and it's certainly hard not to smile in such a happy place. Despite being super busy the service was exceptional our waitress was such a sweetie and really made an effort to have a conversation with us and discuss food options

Turtle Bay Meat Platter Starter

What I love about Turtle bay is the encouragement to eat what the hell you like! I can be such a picky eater so being able to order little plate selections as a meal was great. Me and Connor decided to have a meat platter and then a few sides such as spiced fries and a garlic flatbread. But the meat platter was the real star of the show. We had jerk pit ribs and wings which were so succulent and fell off the bone, spicy beef Jamaican patty which was amazing! Super spicy and delicious. Sweetcorn fritters which looked amazing but I'm not a sweetcorn lover, Connor enjoyed them! and delicious garlic and chicken flatbread. Everything was so perfectly cooked, piping hot and full of authentic flavour every mouthful was unreal and I thoroughly enjoyed it all. It was my idea of the ideal meal being able to try lots of different things at once and keeping my taste buds guessing

Turtle Bay Desserts

We finished off our meal with delicious desserts. As I mentioned in my Piccolino's review I bloody love desserts as I have such a sweet tooth. I was so stuck at what I wanted as they all sounded so delicious. I eventually decided on a Chilli chocolate brownie and Connor had a Sticky Ginger Pudding. Both were next level amazing such wholesome flavours and the heat in both was just right. I left Turtle Bay absolutely stuffed and I definitely won't be leaving it so long between visits again

  1. That meat platter looks unique and terrific! My only fear is that I am kind of a wimp when it comes to Jerk spice. I am down for those desserts though!

  4. Everything looks so tasty! I'm a big fan of Turtle Bay, especially their cocktails! The meat platter looks amazing and so do the puddings! I've only ever had their rum cake for pudding and I would 100% recommend but I think next time I go I'll have to give one of these a try!
