Day Zero Goals: 1001 days later
Way back in March 2019 I created my first Day Zero Goals post with a view of trying to complete as many of my 101 goals in 1001 days as possible. A lot has changed since then, both personally for me as I try to tick goals off but also in the wider world as things such as Brexit and Covid continue to change our lives beyond recognition. Nevertheless I've reached a whole 1001 days later so it's time to take a look at my goals and see just how I did

- Go on a Hot air balloon ride
- Go to Disneyland Paris
- USA Roadtrip
- Complete a reading challenge - I got to a point where I was trying to complete an out of date challenge and really not enjoying reading any more. So I've stopped the challenge and I'm now reading more for fun which was completely the aim
- Visit all Premiership and EFL Grounds
- Midnight movie Premiere
- Go to Cadbury World - We went here in July 2019 and I really enjoyed it proper chocoholic
- 20k social media followers combined - Completed! This is twitter, instagram, pinterest, facebook and bloglovin combined. I'm so pleased to have got here, it's helped me work out which channels work for my blog and which to prioritise
- Attend a blog event
- Partner with a local company on my blog - I've partnered with 3 amazing foodie locations local to me Hotel Du Vin York, Turtlebay , Piccolino and The Botanist
- Go on a Cruise
- 'Try' Pinterest pins rather than just pinning and leaving - Ongoing I'm in the groove with this one I've been working through a few blogging ones
- Have a full day at the cinema - We completed this I saw a few films in a day and I loved it
- Swim in an infinity pool - Completed on our Cape Verde holiday
- Say Yes for an entire week - I did this in February and it was good, I ended up doing things I would've normally said no to, I definitely want to do it again for a bit longer
- Pay off my car finance - All done and my little red beep beep is all mine
- Earn enough blog income to cover at least half of the household bills
- Reach 25000 sessions on my blog per month
- Order from every takeaway that delivers to me on Just Eat - Due to lockdown this one has become unachievable purely because everywhere now delivers and living in a city it's crazy, so I probably need to reassess for the next list
- Go dog sledding
- Completely clear my old bedroom of stuff, sell what I don't want - I've managed to complete this! I sold a lot and threw a lot too there's not a lot of stuff now from my mums that isn't already at my house
- Do a food challenge
- Be a bridesmaid - In August 2019 I was absolutely thrilled to by the Bridesmaid for my mum and dad finally after 20 years together
- Get engaged - OMG it actually happened I can't believe it October 20th 2020 Connor proposed and I'm the happiest girl alive
- Get married - We finally did it! We had a beautiful intimate ceremony in June 2020 and while it was different to how we planned it worked out absolutely perfect
- Have a baby - Definitely the biggest change and achievement on this list. My gorgeous boy arrived in November and I've now had a whole month of being a mummy
- Spend a night in a tree house
- Go to an airport and get the next flight
- Harry Potter tour in Edinburgh
- Get professional business cards for my blog - I did this! And adore my new business cards
- Hold a car boot
- Go on the Eurostar
- Survive Brexit - Who knew this was the tip of the shit iceberg! But we're here and still going so I guess that counts as survival?
- Own all the Harry Potter Lego - I still have the huge castle to build, but they keep releasing more and more! And I was running out of space so this is kind of partially completed
- Win a quarterly award at work - I won a quarterly award, in my 3rd year of being there. I've been working consistently hard and leading the league table in my section for the majority of the year
- Get in the car and flip a coin, make an adventure wherever we end up - We did this in Autumn and ended up having a lovely trip to Redmires Reservoir purely through flipping a coin
- Go to the Electric Cinema in London
- Watch every Disney movie in order - Thoroughly enjoying reliving my early 00's youth watching Disney movies but nowhere near the end
- Go to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival
- Go to Iceland and visit the Blue Lagoon
- See the Northern Lights
- Go to Stonehenge
- Do a skydive
- Do a bungee jump
- Decorate the house so not all the walls are magnolia - Our entire house has been redecorated! There's a few tiny furniture changes I want to make to accomodate baby toys but on the whole I love it
- Go to New Orleans during Mardi Gras
- Donate Platelets / Blood on a regular basis - I'm actually devastated but due to the manner of my labour I had to have two blood transfusions so now I'm unable to donate blood
- Complete a random act of kindness - I've done this a couple of times during lockdown whether it's been donating to a good cause or surprising someone who's been having a hard time I really enjoy it
- Go to Rome
- Visit Wales
- Visit Ireland
- Stand under a waterfall
- See 10 shows / concerts - 3/10 American Idiot, Brydon Mack and Mitchell, Dick Whittington Pantomime, (Friendsical has moved to 2022!)
- Visit Oxford on Alice's Day (July 6th)
- Clear out all my clothes so everything fits on one rail - Due to little mans impending arrival we moved all of our clothes into one wardrobe in our bedroom so I had a HUGE tidy out and they all fit (just)
- Keep logging our life together in our memory book - We're right up to date with this and I love looking back on our journey
- Visit New York
- Go to Alton Towers at Halloween - So it wasn't Halloween... BUT we did go to Alton Towers so I'm ticking this one off
- Buy a BBQ - We bought a BBQ! It's only a little kettle BBQ but it's perfect for just the two of us
- Make the garden a nice place - It's definitely a work in progress, we've got big ideas but not sure if they'll happen this year - but it's a world away from what it was
- Watch LOTR - Finally ticked this off after our local cinema had showings during August
- Lose weight
- Explore Sheffield, keep ticking things off Tripadvisor - Now at 180 - still plodding along and finding new fun things to do
- Create a freebie/something useful for my blog visitors - I've created a new blogger checklist which you'll receive if you subscribe to my emails on the left hand side
- Put up the pictures that are still in the kitchen in a pile - Success haha! I now have pictures on my walls
- Send 5 just because gifts - Completed I bought 5 girls lockdown gifts off their amazon wishlist I saw on twitter just because we all need a little happy to get through this madness
- Blog twice a week consistently - I didn't quite manage twice a week but I did keep blogging throughout, I've got big plans for the new year to give it a kick start
- Organise all of mine and Connors stuff into the house - Complete! Amazing what a kick up the arse a baby on the way did
- Celebrate our 3rd anniversary - This is a weird one! The day kind of passed unnoticed in the midst of rearranged wedding dates and baby scans. But we're married now so I'm taking that as a big celebration
- Try a new food once a month - We've been having Hellofresh deliveries which has definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone
- Try a new restaurant once a month - I'm loving doing this and Sheffield is full of so many wonderful places. I try to remember to do as many reviews as possible in my Eat Sheffield
- Do 50k steps on a weekly basis
- Have £5k saved up in a house fund
- Build my blog email list to 500 - 150 on the list, progress being made
- Organise all photos from the laptop, phone etc. on to an external hard drive - Thank the lord I did this as my laptop did die, I'm so pleased I didn't lose anything
- Have a blog post go viral
- Watch a sunrise
- See England win the Euros - we got the closest we've ever been!
- Watch SUFC get promoted to the premiership - I mean the 2nd season syndrome hit us hard and to the Championship we returned but I saw us get there and enjoyed it all
- Remind Connor I love him every day - This will always be ongoing but I'm definitely hitting it and making sure Connor knows how appreciated he is
- Turn the spare room into something useful/functional - The spare room is actually functional as a walk in wardrobe! I can see the floor and everything which is a far cry from what it used to be. 2021 update - that walk in wardrobe didn't last long, it's now little mans nursery
- Go to a festival
- Go to Cornwall
- Visit the fairy pools in the Isle of Skye
- Cook through a whole cookbook - I'm working through a Pinch of Nom cookbook and enjoying it
- Celebrate a holiday I normally don't - I don't normally do anything for New Years but we brought in 2020 in Edinburgh and I really enjoyed it
- Become a member at the board game cafe and visit often - We've not become members but since it reopened we've been twice and definitely making it a regular thing so this one is complete
- Complete 10 jigsaws - 7 complete (mini HP one, Big repeating pattern Harry Potter one, Disney Panaromic, Anniversary Disney Jigsaw, Cat breeds jigsaw, Mini London, Cinderella) - A new Marvel one has been started
- Donate / Buy items for RSPCA Sheffield - I've been buying items from their Amazon wishlist most months, I've also set up Amazon Smile so they get a donation every time I buy from Amazon
- Write a short story
- Brew our own beer in the shed
- Do something that scares me once a year - Living through a Pandemic, Major job change as my current role gets merged with another company and had a baby!
- Join a book club
- Go on our Honeymoon
- Attend a Murder Mystery Weekend
- Visit a 'Dark Tourist' hotspot
- Go on a Hen Do - I went to Edinburgh for my friend Sarahs and also had a fun night in Sheffield for my Mum's Hen do so double tick here
- 101 progress report every 3 months - I just about managed to keep up with this
- Try all the lush bath bombs they sell - I'm enjoying doing this so much still, definitely making huge headway
- Win a fantasy football league
- Start a new 101 list

I'm actually surprised and really pleased just how much progress I managed to make on my list, especially when you consider that we were locked down for a vast amount of 2020. I've thoroughly enjoyed it and already have my new list ready and waiting to start in 2022 so watch this space!
