Celebrating Earth Day with Eco Plush

Eco-Friendly Character Toys from Eco Plush

One thing nobody warned me about when having a  baby was just how much stuff they come with! From the cots to the sterilizers to the hundreds of nappies, little ones take up a lot of room - and so do their toys. One thing I dislike about Children's toys is the amount of plastic and non-recyclable materials used to make these colourful entertainment items. I was very pleased to hear about The Eco Plush range from Character Toys - their new range contains leading character collections such as CoComelon, Blippi, Barney, Teletubbies, My Little Pony, and Peppa Pig

Max is obviously still a little baby so gets only a little screen time but what he does appreciate is a super soft toy to cuddle up to when he's feeling sleepy. He's particularly taken with Jake from Cocomelon and loves babbling away to him.

The Eco Plush range is made from 100% recycled materials lovingly produced and embroidered with a green leaf logo. It's really important especially on Earth Day (22nd April this year!) to remember our environment and start teaching our little ones and future generations how to protect our planet in easy ways such as recycling.

Big topics such as sustainability and protecting our planet can seem like daunting topics to discuss with kids but it's really important we do, they're the next generation. I try to be sustainable in a number of ways such as being paperless where possible. Starting early with kids and introducing eco-friendly toys and other practical steps they can take will help their future selves make our little world a nice one to live in.

Here are 3 simple ways you can help your kids learn more about sustainability:
- Introducing eco-friendly toys and having a chat about how they're made and what their made from - the Eco plush range is perfect for this as they're predominantly made from plastic bottles
- Getting them involved in recycling in the home and working out what goes into which bin
- Buying and using second hand toys and clothes. This works both ways of selling their unwanted items or clothes and allowing them to buy themselves something preloved with the profits

The Eco Plush toys themselves are around 8" in size and incredibly soft with no sharp edges. Perfect for little hands! It's refreshing being able to make an eco-friendly choice when it comes to little ones' toys. With an RRP of £9.99, the plushes are affordable ways of introducing a more eco-friendly toy from your children's favourite shows. They're widely available both online and offline from Amazon*, Smyths, Toymaster, Asda, Tesco, and many more

What's your little one's favourite character?
