X Muse Vodka Cocktails
There's something about the festive season which just makes me want to go for cocktails and really get into the festive spirit. I think the bunching of using up annual leave, wanting to catch up with friends and lovely bank holidays means more people are open to catching up over a few drinks. It's no secret that I love a cocktail in Sheffield, this year I've decided to get my mixologist on and get creating my own Festive Cocktails all focused around the gorgeous X Muse Vodka*
X Muse vodka (pronounced Tenth Muse) is the first blended barley vodka from Scotland. It has two barley varieties for flavour, draws water from the heart of Jupiter Artland and uses cutting edge techniques to create the perfect blend and taste before being distilled and bottled in Scotland.
It packs a punch at 40% and is deliciously flavourful with tastes of pear drops and crisp apples, hints of honey ginger and nutmeg on your palate. I tried it out in a shot to get a good taste of X Muse Vodka and it was certainly powerful and warming - perfect for the cold snap we've currently got. But I also decided I'd love to try a few cocktail combinations so here's my three festive cocktail creations!
Sweet and Sour Apple Fizz
- 1 shot of X Muse Vodka
- 1 shot of Apple Sourz
- 1/2 shot of lime juice
- Sprinkle of cinammon
- Maraschino cherries to garnish
- Lemonade to taste
This one can be as strong or as tame as you like! It balances the super sweet crisp apple undertones from the vodka with the sour apple and a hint of spice from the cinammon. I recommend pairing with lemonade for the 'fizz' but the amount completely depends on how strong you like your cocktails!
Cranberry Vodka Punch
- 1 shot of X Muse Vodka
- Equal measure of Cranberry juice and ginger ale
- Candycane to garnish
This one screams festive! What's more festive than delicious cranberry and ginger? The ginger ale pairs really well with the ginger and nutmeg undertones in the vodka. I served this in a martini glass but it makes a great punch to make ahead of time for any guests over Christmas to help themselves to
Rudolphs Tipsy Spritzer
- 1 shot of X Muse Vodka
- 1 shot of lemon juice
- 2 tsp of cherry juice
- 50ml of orange juice
- 50ml of ginger beer
- Lemonade to tase
- Rosemary sprig and Maraschino cherries to garnish
This one is super versatile and really easy to make non-alcoholic just miss out the vodka. This makes sure that everyone around the Christmas table can join in with a Rudolphs nose (cherry). Super sweet but quite a tame cocktail so perfect to sip along during the day
There we go! I've had so much fun crafting these delicious cocktails and X Muse Vodka is absolutely the star of the show with them all, if you'd like more cocktail ideas they have a fab cocktail compendium on the site for ideas
