Alphabet date ideas: Sheffield Edition
One of the most important parts of any relationship whether it's brand new or a long term marriage is dating. Making time for each other and having fun doing cool things together. I've out date ideas together in the past including an alphabet date ideas list which has inspired me to create a Sheffield edition. Sheffield is brimming with fun date locations and things to do so here's a few ideas to get you started.

B - Botanical Gardens - Speaking of picnics, another excellent outdoor space is the Botanical gardens. This free to visit gardens boasts 19 acres of land and over 5000 species of plants. It's even got an old bear pit which is a grade II listed structure
C - Crucible - World renowned for hosting the World Snooker Championship since 1977, this quaint theatre still hosts shows and performances outside of the sports calender.
D - Damflask Reservoir - A 5k circular route around the reservoir is a lovely picturesque escape from the city centre bustle. You can even take in water sports or fishing on your walk
E - Endcliffe Park - A gorgeous park in the summer with a large field area, beautiful babbling brooks with ducks and wildfowl. A really lovely cafe with outdoor seating and a number of statues / sculptures including the Mi Amigo memorial
F - Forge Dam - Another lovely walk around the water, complete with a delicious cafe, park area and lots of surrounding woodland to explore
G - Golf Fang Sheffield - A super cool venue decked out in incredible street art. 18 holes of unique urban crazy golf with really fun decor. A top cocktail menu and DJ keeping the vibes high
H - Heeley City Farm - A friendly farm and environmental visitor centre right in the heart of the city. Visit the animals and take in the lovely garden centre and home cooked food in The Farm Kitchen cafe
I - Ice Sheffield - Ice Skating doesn't need to be a winter activity, check out Ice Sheffield with regular public skating sessions and skates for hire
J - Jamesons Tearooms - The most delicious handmade afternoon tea, my favourite think about Jamesons is the cake tapas choice if you've got a super sweet tooth
K - Kelham Island - A man made island with a really industrial hip vibe. Take a walk around and explore the independent food and drink establishments, plus regular markets such as Peddler make it a great place to hang out
L - Leadmill - A former flour mill Leadmill is the longest running music venue and has the most incredible history. Currently embroiled in a landlord dispute make sure you visit to support this musical heritage location
M - Manor Lodge - From a historically significant location to a turret house and tudor ruins and a gorgeous wildflower meadow it's a little off the beaten track but lovely
N - National video game museum - Check out this super cool venue full of retro and historic video games and also cutting edge games and newer technology including lots to learn and play with
O - Outdoor City - 61% of Sheffield is green space, with over 4.5 million trees. It truly is the outdoors on the city doorstep so check out the maps or just head out for a walk and truly explore how lucky we are with our outdoor spaces
P - Picture House Social - Tucked away underneath the Abbeydale Picturehouse is the gorgeous Picture House Social. The vibes are cool with delicious cocktails and pizzas, a gorgeous outdoor garden and fun to be had with ping pong tables and their sister brand Shuffleshack
Q - Quayside Markets - A monthly event held at the lovely Victoria Quays. It combines street food with independent businesses and good music
R - Roxy Ball Room - The home of booze and and ball games with a huge variety of activities from Crazy Pool to Basketball and Beer Pong. There's even indoor Curling to keep you busy!
S - Sheffield FC - Visit the world first football club and the home of Sheffield FC. Non-league football is so important and how better to support the grassroots than taking in a game at he worlds first
T - Treehouse Board game cafe - I've sung the praises of Treehouse board game cafe so many times. It's still one of my favourite places for discovering new favourite games such as Carcassone. Read more about it on my Sheffield gaming locations post
U - Underground Tunnels of Sheffield - Underneath the vibrant city centre is a whole network of underground tunnels and tours run regularly through Sheaf Porter Trust
V - Virtual Reality 'Look Up' Trail - In it's infancy and brand new to the city in 2022 is the VR Look Up trail. Download the app and find the locations hidden in the city centre. Scan the QR code to reveal the hidden secrets
W - Winter Gardens - Multi award winning, the Winter Gardens is one of the largest glasshouses to be built in the UK housing more than 2500 plants. Gorgeous spot to enjoy a picnic and a stones throw away from the Peace Gardens which is a perfect spot in the summer
X - Xplore! - Slightly cheating as couldn't think of any X's! But genuinely Sheffield is such an amazing city. From exploring the heart of the peak district to independent areas of the city such as Walkley, Ecclesall, Abbeydale. We've got a thriving city and so much outside of the main city centre I definitely recommend just heading out to the outskirts to explore Sheffield a little more.
Y - Yellow Arch Studios - Super cute independent music venue, recording studio and bar. Regular music events are held here as well as a regular comedy club
Z - Zorb football Sheffield - Get a group of mates together and head over to Zorb Football. It's a super fun activity to break the ice, perfect for when things are getting more serious to introduce groups of friends
